carson landscape industries

project overview
In 1975, Frank Carson, owner of Carson Landscape Industries, started out with a residential service route. Today, the company offers 32 years of experience, is 230 employees strong, and has 94 trucks servicing 15 million square feet of landscape in Northern California.

In June 2007 Carson carried out its commitment to make the world even "greener" by installing a 116 kW (DC) solar electric system at its facility in Sacramento. The company is making full use of its large warehouse roof with a system that will generate enough electricity to offset a significant portion of their electricity usage. The solar array will generate more than 151,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity during an average weather year-enough to power 40 homes.

Solar Development, Inc. managed the project, in addition to designing the system and supplying the materials. Local electric utility SMUD contributed $291,000 to the project under the terms of their solar incentive program.

customer testimonial
According to Carson, "Solar Development, Inc … [was] efficient and reliable in the design and installation of my system, as well as making the required coordination efforts with SMUD seem effortless."
